The Yamaha MD8 is a rare bird due to its use of the Mindisc format, but is a workhorse of a unit with a lot of capabilities! An internet search will result in finding lots of praise for these long out-of-production and hard-to-find mulitrack recorders.
An object score based on Japanese items held in Aberystwyth university's ceramics archive featuring no input mixing boards, prepared harp, violin and modular synth. The recording captures Nakamura's first performance in Wales at a sell out concert held as part of Listen to the Voice of Fire festival of improvised and experimental music.
